Mercy Squee

I just pre-ordered Kushiel's Mercy. *happy dance* I can't wait until summer!

I know a lot of people don't care for the turn the storyline took in Kushiel's Justice, but I really loved the book (a lot more than Scion) and I...

think Imri and Sidonie are just absolutely perfect for each other. Their relationship is sweet. A lot of folks thought it was too contrived, but I just love Sidonie and think they're great together. She's hot, too, and I can't wait to see her top Imri.

I think most of us saw the Melisande thing coming from the end of Avatar, if not Scion itself. I'm interested (and slightly nervous) about seeing how Imri's involvement with that comes along. I really liked Ysandre in the first trilogy, and I think her stubborn refusal of Imri is mostly plot device. She seemed much fairer than that, and she actually liked Imri. So I don't know if I'll be pleased with the resolution (?) of Melisande's storyline. But then again, the Kushiel milieu is probably my favorite fandom, and I usually end up liking the majority of what happens. (I'll admit that I still mourn the later treatment of L'Envers).

Don't blush! lol I was just wondering if you'd hit the Imri books or not yet. I have them, if you ever need any. ;)

Oh, i'd love them...but honestly, there's no use right now. Having fiction onhand just gives me an excuse to procrastinate on the things i should be doing! :D

Understood. I've fallen into that trap a lot lately, myself.

Psst...will you take a gander at my newest post when you get the chance? I'd love to hear from you.

*grins*.....Imri is growing into someone to tread lightly around. He may not have started out as touched by one of the Angels, but he is of their decent and had a close brush with what I'd call a Demon at Darsanga (pardon if there are misspellings). After the events of Scion and Justice, this kind of affinity has only grown. I'm curious to see what will happen along that line with Mercy.....

I'm not a fangirl, but noting that Phedre started small (but with one leg up) and became who and what she is....Imri starts higher in status, but lower in gifted traits....but is turning out to be just as...formidible...as an opponent as his mother was.

I totally agree, especially with that last part about Imri. You put it well. A lot of folks don't like the change to Imri's voice from Phedre. I'll admit that I didn't like him as much in Scion (as opposed to Avatar), but I still thought she was writing it well from his POV. I'm glad to see that he's grown into a rather awesome young man. I love seeing the Shahrizai blood part of it, too. It will be interesting when he meets with Melisande again, although I kind of hope he doesn't kill her/bring about her death. Love as thou wilt and all. :)

I'm LOVING Imri, not as much I think as Phe and Jocc but in different ways.

I can't wait for this book and really really hope it's not the last.

Me too! I was aggravated by Joscelin there for a bit, but I think he's a man who's only gotten better as he's aged as well. :D

SQEE! One of my favorite fandoms! I like the Imri/Sidonie match....especially since it started out with dislike....and then grew. It seems a very real relationship and the more those around them dislike it the more bonded they seem to be.

I like them too - they are hot! And *especially* because there was such a distaste there to begin with. I absolutely love the other side of Sidonie that no one else sees, and she's become one of my favorite characters, I think.
