Squee!

My facebook friends already know what I've been up to, so I thought I'd better share with all my friends. Guess what I did!

Mine is the red one. Josh's is the blue one in the back (her name is CC, and he got her last year). Both are Honda Shadows (mine's an 89, Josh's is a 94).

I don't know her name yet. And once I know what I'm doing, I'll actually post riding pics.

I know I sound like a real mother saying this but please, please please be careful and always use helmets, etc...no matter how hot or unfree it feels...I say this b/c I have a friend / client who lost his leg in a 'cycle accident. Scott's bro' was also in a bad wipe out and was fully dressed but still was seriously banged up for months. It's the other drivers, not you to worry about so much of the time....

That being said, enjoy the gas savings. They could pay for themselves in transport costs. My neighbor loves his. I love red!

Thanks so much! I'm definitely being careful. I'm way paranoid of other drivers myself. So far I am WAAAAY beginner and am not leaving the driveway. From last night's progress, I'd say I'm still a long way from the open road.

It is! Josh rides much better, and he says it's a very smooth and quiet ride for something with so much get-up-and-go.

That would kick ass! Unfortunately, looks like proficiency is a bit far down the road. But as soon as I get it back from the shop, I'll be all over that damned thing again. :P

I'm stoked. I was doing pretty well, but then we went down and I had to take it in to the shop already. >

Mine's a relatively small one, too. It's much lighter than Josh's. Still really hard to keep up and steer around though!

dude!!! I just rode up to NJ on my motorcycle!!! We need to go riding! I'm in NJ now, and then riding down to florida. I'll be back after that. We all need to go ride!!!!

Don't worry about spilling. Everyone does it at least once. :)

Congrats! And yes, take the class! Sweet! I've got a honda also. :) They rule.

I knew you went riding! Glad to know you're safe. We'd love to ride with you some time! I should warn you though, I am a long way off from the open road. I'd just barely graduated from our driveway to the dirt road when I dropped her. :(

On the plus side, we've decided to go get her back today whether they fix her or not. Guy told me it might be next week before they can get the part, and since Josh was able to drive it up to the shop, we're going to go get it and just keep practicing. lol Josh wants me to get those metals bars on it so it doesn't hurt her as bad if I happen to fall.

hahaha. Awesome. Honda Shadows are the bikes Scott and I are actually planning to buy for ourselves, eventually. They're sweet.

It really is! I can touch the ground on flat feet, too, which I was worried about.

That dumbass mechanic. Wasn't any problem but rust, and it took them 24 hours to even LOOK at it. *seethes* We got a crash bar thing that Josh is going to put on so I don't mess it up, but I'm hoping to get the hang of it soon. I haven't gotten to ride *with* him yet. It's a lot harder than it looks.

Thanks! She really is. I'm enjoying the hell out of it, although I seriously need some rain gear.
