GAH! NaNo Planning Already?

thefaeway reminded me that November is quickly approaching. As "Complete NaNoWriMo is on my Mission 101 list, then I really need to participate every year til I get the thing done.

No real ideas yet, although I have had a couple of story ideas toppling around the ol' brain pan. Don't know if any of them are full enough for a novel, but I could try. Most stem from my worldbuiling project with

lessthan90sheep (which I have been anxious to start writing stories in!). I may try to brainstorm and flesh some things out to see if any ideas are actually viable.

So who else is participating this year?

I'm definitely going for it again this year! When I won last year I was sooo happy I felt like donating 100$ to them (I didn't though because I didn't have that much).

I don't have any real ideas yet either but I feel excited about it. I have a world built from last year's already too. Now I just need a plot hehe.

I'm totally the same way - neato world, no plot. LOL I'm going to try to buckle down and complete it, no matter how crappy my output. I'm hoping if I write a specfic instead of historical, maybe I'll have better like (ie: make shit up instead of wasting all my time researching something I know nothing about)

*whimpers* I did last year (and won! Go me!) but I think I should do again this year... Ideas, are rather fleeting at the moment. I have lots of 1,000 word beginnings though. ;)

Well let me know if you decide to do it this year. 1000 word beginnings are a good start - or if you clean them up, they could be good flash. :D

I'm doing it, but I'm cheating. I'm not writing a whole novel start to finish in a month. I'm starting my book now and hoping to finish it by the end of November.

I tried last year but I only managed two words and a profile *blush*

If you're going for it this year and decide a nano filter (or if you already have one) put me on it; you'd be great motivation since you have a 101 motivator and I'm feeling inspired...

I'll do that, but I'm not sure if I'll make a NaNo filter. I'm considering banning myself from LJ until I finish. Probably won't, but I'm way too easily distracted - maybe a daily quota or no net cruising or something.

Ok, this is totally my own opinion...but i think you'd get a lot written if you went back to the roots of what you know. Characters and stories immersed in reiki, childbirth, spirituality...i'm sure it'd be beautiful, and there'd be so much less time invested in creating 'new' things. Just kind stick with the 'old', aka 'what you know'.

Of course, you can completely disregard that completely. :) i just want to read your stuff!

I'm glad! Your eagerness alone will get me off my ass and posting it.

Actually, I "write what I know" fairly often. My characters often have one or more aspect of myself (for instance, one of my Night Court rpg characters is a midwife/priestess who is touched by Eisheth and channels healing energy...hrm...) And one of the stories I'm tumbling about is the legend of First Woman, who became the Birth Goddess after she passed...
