Hooray of the Day

I have fallen quite in love with ljsecret. I finally caught another submissions posts! It's been too long. I am stoked. I had a few saved up.

I always wished some of the sweet secrets could be posted for me. I think it happened recently. Seems like it might have been about me. If you come back, random person, I hope we can be friends. Your kindness cheered me considerably on a very bad day.

That's just so sweet. Whether it's me or not, it's pretty true that just an effort to reach out can really help people.

Mine aren't that nice.

Mwaa ha ha.

See...you draw people to you.
Just like you drew me in :)

I know you've been through a lot lately (understatement of the year). But you have
this amazing energy that can be felt from
very far away.

I really hope this return to LJ will be a
blessing for you and help you heal.

Interestingly my husband (who is agnostic) has
recently been making noise about wanting to check
out the local Unitarian church and I immediately
thought of you and wondered if you're still active?

Aw, thank you so much! I've not really been feeling the amazing energy lately, but I'm hoping to recapture it. I have been feeling less scattered lately.

I've actually never been to a Unitarian church. I went to a Unity church (they are different, but similar I think), but I'm not involved there anymore. I'm actually wanting to try out a Unitarian church as well! I've heard good things.

Aha..ok..good to know.

I'll share what I find out if we go if you'll do likewise. :)

Will happily do!

You'll probably beat me. I haven't been very on the ball with the church stuff lately.

Well in re-reading what you wrote about Unity it may not jive so well with Unitarianism.

They don't believe (as I understand it) in the Trinity, God is God and Jesus was a prophet, perhaps godlike but not God the incarnation on earth.

That's only one of a few points of difference between it and other Christian based faiths.

That *is* what Unity believes, though. Granted, Unity churches can also differ fairly widely depending on how conservative the minister is, but Unitics look pretty metaphysically at the Bible and Jesus story.

I always thought that their underlying principles were basically the same. Unitarian Universalists seem to have a more environmentalist/activism approach than I've encountered in Unity. But that's just what I got off reading websites on UU. Like I said, I haven't been to one yet. I know a few church friends who have either come from or left to UU though!
