We went hiking with our dear friend lahermite yesterday. Eden wanted to hike one more good time before the weather changed, so we made plans to go somewhere new, so we went to Max Patch. It's a lovely mountain right in lahermite's backyard, and also located on the Appalachian Trail.

Me and the girls were all under the weather, but the fresh air did us good. It was late when we arrived, so we caught sunset as we were hiking down the mountain. The autumn colors on the ripples of the mountains are just breathtaking.

If you mosey on over to her journal, lahermite left the picture post open just for all of us! You will get to see her and her critters as well as me and mine. You'll see me and Eden rolling down a mountain. (We didn't get that far.) You'll also see the same random stranger, and a really gorgeous cloud halo.

You have such beautiful girls! Eden looks so much like Josh, it's uncanny. Thank you (and thank Tracy) for sharing the pictures, they're lovely and make me want to get outside myself!

Thank you so much! You should definitely enjoy the autumn. It's really wonderful right now.

Eden has always looked just like her daddy. Mom my actually called it from the ultrasound.

Wow, those photos were all amazing, and especially the one of Josh and Ivy. Lovely! Guess what - today I finally have a moment to write you a message in a bottle - whoo hooo!!!!!

Thank you!

Ha ha ha, I have not forgotten that either. I was going to try shopping tonight to find some actual stationary, because college-ruled just doesn't seem to match my bottle.

Mine's on just plain white paper that I have had to trim down to fit in there. At the rate I'm going you might get a novel in a bottle - ha! :)

Those are some gorgeous photos. All those pretty fall colors and late-day sunshine making everything golden. I'd love to hang around a place like that for a few hours. The kids look like they had so much fun!

That one *is* lovely. I don't have a lot of me and Josh pictures. One of us is usually doing the taking.
Oct. 17th, 2008 03:10 am (UTC)
there's probably four or five more of them that will be on the disc you'll remind me to make when i get back.

Oct. 17th, 2008 03:12 am (UTC)
Woo hoo! Wait...how long will you be gone? I'll forget. You should mail them to me with a pretty postcard.
Oct. 17th, 2008 03:16 am (UTC)
i'll be gone about a week and a half.
Oct. 17th, 2008 04:42 am (UTC)
i love this one too!

and the one of you and the girls, with the sun catching the lens... i sensed your mom in it. ((((hugs))))
Oct. 17th, 2008 10:36 am (UTC)
Aw, thank you! I'm glad you think so. I sensed mom a bit in some of those pictures too - she loved hiking, but I also thought maybe it's just because I see where I'm looking more like her. LOL

i didn't go to the fake cut. but i love the picture! ivy is gorgeous!

and it's a very random comment, but i'm growing very fond of the names ivy and eden (don't ask me why). they're extremely beautiful names.

another random question: if you had a boy instead, what would you name him?
Oct. 18th, 2008 05:19 pm (UTC)
Thank you so much! Tracy took some good pictures. That last picture of us in my Josh post came from our trip the other day.

I'm glad you like the names! We both enjoy unique names. (I guess because there were always 5 Amandas and Joshes in our classes as kids LOL) I'd had Eden picked out for years and years (and just kind of didn't give Josh any choice :P) It took us a while to come up with Ivy*.

I hope you don't mind, but I can't tell. I picked up a superstition when I doula-ed for my friend ladysmith. I don't want to say it til I say it to him. I'll give you a hint though. It's also biblical, but not Joshua or Michael biblical. Stay tuned! I'm pretty sure a boy is next.

Edited for duh-me.
