I need help finalizing the plans for my WonderSaga. I need someone who actually understands calculus. Does such a person exist? If so, will you please help me?

Re: squee!
It looks like other people who were near their computers this afternoon have figured it out for you! :)

A quick idea - if your tarus is stationary and spinning you would get gravity on the outside edges - I believe it could be spinning really slowly if the diameter of your donut was 6 miles (which it would have to be greater than that for the diameter of both 'small' circles/tube to be 3 miles each) and have earth-like gravity on the outer edges - so the 'sky' would be oriented toward the inside of the tarus with the 'ground' being the outside edge. That's just an idea though :).

Re: squee!
Mostly figured. I'd like to tweak it a bit.

So the diameter of the hole would have to be more than six miles? Mark was saying three, like the diameter of the tube, would be a good number. I did plan to have the sky be the inside edge, and gravity would increase as you took the elevator or climbed down into the habitat. :)

Re: squee!
Oh, the diameter of the donut hole could be anything you want and that would determine how long the space inside was. I think 3 miles for the diameter of the hole (making the whole thing 9 miles in diameter) sounds really good though.
