Healing Request

As those of you on my facebook learned yesterday, Eden managed to stick her face into a patch of poison ivy on our hike. She woke up yesterday with her poor face covered in it. Lots of Calagel and reiki/prayers/good thoughts really made it look much better before she went to bed.

And in her sleep, she couldn't help but scratch. Not only is it still on her face, she also now has a small trail running all the way down her body.

Please give her a little more of that good healing energy. I'll be washing her sheets in hot water again, and heading to the store soon to get her some benadryl.

See if you can find a natural salve with jewel weed in it--it's great for dealing with poison ivy. Call around to health food stores and see if someone's got it.

Healing energy coming her way!

Thanks so much! I needed to go to the local health food store anyways, so I'll see if they have it.

Thanks so much! I've been trying to encourage her to reiki when she wants to scratch. It's so hard for her.

Burts Bees makes poison ivy soap. It has saved my husband's life on more than one occasion.

I love to hear tried-and-trues. I'll look for it. Thank you!

don't forget baking soda baths... and if someone has a pool she can swim in, that will heal it faster than anything else.

good luck, healing thoughts and energy to your wee bundle!

I never heard of baking soda baths, but I told her she could have an oatmeal bath later. Maybe baking soda would be less messy. We don't have a pool, and I don't believe the summer pools have opened yet. :(

But thanks!

Aww... much good vibes from me for the young'un!

I noticed someone already recommended the Burt's Bees soap. Yes, get that!

Thanks so much! I just returned with some, and she's washed up with it. We'll see how that works.

*hugs* Pool water is useful because it is nothing more than REALLY diluted bleach, because of the chlorine in it to keep it sanitary. *smiling* It's good for acne, too, for the same reason. Bleach isn't bad, it's just in how it's used. I hope she gets to feeling better soon!

I wish we had a pool to go to! They don't open til June around here. We went and got some meds for her though, and it looks a lot better than it did yesterday.

Thanks a bunch!

Owww! That has to hurt... Any update since this? Sending healing thoughts your way.

Thanks so much! It's actually almost cleared up already! Lucky thing. Mine always lasts for at least a month. We went and bought that Burt's Bee's Poison Ivy Soap that everyone suggested, and doused her poor face in calamine lotion, and it's definitely so much better. You can still slightly see where the bigger blisters were, but only if you really know what you're looking for.

She's still got a little trail on her tummy, because Josh forgot to put medicine on her belly the other night when he did her face, but we've zapped it with more and it looks like it's trying to clear up as well.

Thanks so much for all the healing energy!

Tea tree oil is also good for all sort of skin ailments. It is safe to put directly on your skin, but the odor is strong so covering her whole body in it might not be pleasant. However, it is something to keep in mind for future rashes and such. It helps me! Oh, and you can now find tea tree soaps and shampoos - those have helped with my rashes, dry skin, and dandruff. :)

Thanks a bunch! I've been wanting to get some tea tree oil, but I haven't found it yet. I've had a few friends recommend it, so I'll see if I can find it at the local health food store.
