House Hunting Update

Well, looks like it's a no-go with our first choice. They weren't willing to pay the closing costs if we accepted their full offer, and we weren't willing to pay our full budget for a house where we'd still need to build outbuildings and an addition.

So, time to regroup and refocus. We have two second-choices, so now we have to decide which to offer on. I guess I need to call and make sure they're both still available. I do feel confident that we'll get a farm. If those fall through though, I'll just focus on finding a cheap lot for this trailer and getting that set up. The rest of my money can grow for a while, and maybe we'll be able to afford more on the next go round.

Either way, I still see this working for us. Thank you guys so much for all of your support!

bummer
Just means you're supposed to live somewhere else :)
I think it's very wise not to go over your budget. It's a slippery slope with new homes. Hidden costs etc.

Re: bummer
Thanks! Well our two second choices, one is ten thousand cheaper and one is ten thousand *more*...but we would be able to afford more with that one since it already had outbuildings and two additions. So our budget is kind of fluid, we just have to make sure we can fit everything a farm needs! There are a lot of fees and stuff, so I want to make sure we still have money to move and everything once it's bought.

Hehe, I agree with catku. Usually when I don't get my first choice the Universe has something better in mind for me. :)

Re: bummer
I'm really hoping that is true! I'm keeping the faith. Hopefully Universe is going to steer us to our highest good.

I'm sorry honey. But you know, I'm a firm believer in everything happens for a reason and the first choice usually isn't the best choice. I think you're second choice is going to be brilliant.

Thank you! Yeah, I actually liked one of the second choices better, but the first one had a lot of other things going for it (a pond, the MH was newer, a friend lived in town...). Oh well. I am still feeling confident that we are being led to the perfect right place!

We ended up purchasing SO-not-our-first-choice house and it was a house we had not even considered seriously because it looked "too small from the outside". Go figure. :-)

Hang in there. Keep your needs & dreams in your thoughts and what & where you 'see' yourself close -- and you will get there. thinking of you.

Thanks, sweetie! I'm trying, but now we have to re-do all our thoughts and visualizations since we were focusing on the other house. lol I hope we made the right decision! Last night I dreamt about the house we're passing on...

Our second choice was actually my first choice though, so maybe it will work out best.
