Mission 101 Update

I'm almost 8 months into my current mission101 list, but I also found an old Mission101 in one of my notebooks that I never even posted. Apparently I just made it and forgot about it. I thought it would be neat to look at the goals I managed to accomplish even though I wasn't actively working towards it.

The forgotten list had a start date of January 1, 2013 and end date of September 29, 2015. Here are the ones I've completed and am actively doing right now:

1. Lose 15 (acceptable) - 30 (ideal) pounds: I've lost 25!

2. Quit Little Debbie/chip addiction

3. Take another Coursera course or two

4. Read ladysmith's book and write Amazon review. (I devoured it so quickly the first time that I want to read it more slowly before I do a review.)

5. Keep a list of all books read in one year: You can see that here, although I think I may have left off a book or two at the end of the year. I hadn't realized how few books I read, spending way too much time on the internet or magazines. I plan to do this again next year and hopefully at least double my number. (In fact, I plan on doing this 50 Book Challenge that I found on facebook.)

6. Find a place to volunteer at for at least 3 months - Salem Fitness Center

7. Offer to braid Josh's hair at least 3 times - Twice. His fault for not taking me up on it.

8. Do a homemade Christmas - We did a semi-homemade Christmas last year. That's a step in the right direction.

9. Finish Chloe's and Maya's presents – I've worked on Chloe's picture and just re-found it, though I'll have to draw it over since it got something on it. I found Maya's blanket and one ball of matching yarn, but the girls have lost my crochet hooks.

10. Put together a planting schedule/calendar

11. Build/buy/barter for rabbit hutches - We traded Josh's pit bull, Sasha, for rabbits since she ate most of my chicken flock and could not be trained out of it.

12. Get meat rabbits - We had them, but somehow we were never able to get them to breed. I don't even know how that happened, but there you have it.

13. Build a pen for the dogs - We have the pen, and now we just need to build one big house/shelter that they can share in one end.

14. Get the Grateful Stead blog going - I actually have recommitted to this and tried to get started after NaNo was over. Unfortunately, my website was down for several months. A friend hosts it for me, so I really need to work on finding & moving to my own host. It's up now, but I need to do some clean up, figure out how to get spam help that I don't have to pay for, and start posting again.

15. Finish flash fiction/short story prompts from friends - I think I finished them. Certainly most of them. Unfortunately, I was having horrible writers' block at the time and thought all of them really sucked, so I never really shared them. There is one idea a prompt gave me that I plan to rewrite, since I got a better idea and never ran with it.

16. Order NaNo winner shirts - I ordered from three of the four years that I won, but one year was sold out. :( And one of those three was sold out in my (unisex) size, so I have the largest women's size that they offered. Unfortunately, I guess “women's” really means “toddler's”, but I'm keeping it around in case I ever get down to my goal weight.

17. Do at least 1 more generation of the NaNo WonderSaga for NaNoWriMo

18. Get a good, affordable writing laptop just for me - This was a gift courtesy of my wonderful friend, Jess! ♥

19. Make a real budget - I've sat down and made the budget. We're having a hard time with the 'keeping' part of it, though.

20. Pay off old trailer - This is one of the best, most freeing things that has ever happened to me. I wish it wasn't falling apart in the yard, but the next part is the fixing-it-up part.

21. Start bringing in money - I started with two part-time jobs, until I finally found a full-time one. Which I was laid off from in October. I was getting unemployment, but that's finished. And none of the very few jobs in my local area will hire me (dreadlocks now), and it's really not worth it to drive an hour either direction when Josh is working now. I do have an interview (still a drive), so we'll see. I wish I could get my writing to take off well.

22. Look into being a gestational surrogate - Obviously I have not been one yet, but I know what I need to do to make it happen one day.

Not bad! And a lot of them are very similar to goals on my current list, so I've made those red to show the overlap.
