katiedid717 asked me to talk yesterday about any plans we had for the kids' time off school. I got busy with Christmas stuff and forgot about it, so my apologies!
We don't really have anything special planned. I don't mind letting them laze about the house for some quality 'deschool'-ing time. The older two seem to have had their fill of people and just want to be left alone.
I am going to try to get them to make some progress on their bedrooms. We've been reclaiming the middle bedroom for Maya so that hopefully she can stop sleeping on the couch. Ivy's room stays too cold in winter (it's an addition not hooked up to the heat), so he's been sleeping in the living room lately too. Plus he says his new room creeps him out. I'm going to try to get him to clean it up a bit better and start personalizing it, and maybe he'll eventually start sleeping in there again. Eden's room is like a pack rat's nest and she doesn't listen to me when I ask her to get things up, so I'm going to have to put some foot down there. They won't be thrilled about it, but at least I'm letting them enjoy the holidays first.
