Thats too cool. I only saw the Dead twice but roommates would actually go on tour. One of roommates was a bootleg tape maker. He was a whacky dude.

It's cool that someone your age appreciates them. I miss Jerry :(

Some of the best times of my life!

We even had a cat named Sugaree...she was a freak...her previous owners(aka "staff") had dosed her with LSD. She would NEVER EVER walk on the floor she'd jump from the stairs to the landing to the windsill to the counter to the table to the couch and back again :)

Appreciates - I love them with a burning, fervent passion! I only wish that I'd started listening in time to make a show, but alas, I came to them too late. I did get to see Rat Dog, though. And I only made a friend of Jerry after he passed. ;)

I'm sorry to hear about your cat Sugaree. That's crazy that she wouldn't walk on the floor. I found out that one of my old friends dosed my dog when she was a puppy and I didn't know it. I was SOOOO pissed - especially since I kept spanking her for jumping and clawing me all day (she knew better than to claw), and no one told me what had happened until long after the fact. OMG I could have killed that bastard. Dumb kids should not be allowed around animals or children. I'm sure karma will catch up with them.

www.wncw.org - every Wed night from 9 pm - 2 am EST they play The Grateful Dead Hour followed by Dead Air. I listen religiously. Great stuff. What's your fav Dead song? I'm torn between Ripple & Terrapin Station.

I *love* Ripple and Eyes of the World. There aren't any songs of theirs that I don't like. I don't get to hear them much anymore my cd's were lost when we moved, plus my hubby has no appreciation for it. He's a stiff :) He hates hippies, but doesn't bother to look and see that his wife is basically one.

God I can hear Jerry in my head now :)

Terrapin station brings back so many memories. We had neighbors that panted a Terrapins station mural on the outside of their duplex. Gosh talk about flashbacks! People look at me and laugh when I tell them I was (am) a dead head.

I probably even have an FBI file cuz I hung out (dated) this guy that was arrested for dealing everything and anything. Oh well I never wanted a job that would require clearance anyway.

I really miss being 22 it was a GREAT year!

You have great taste, my friend. ;) I'm a big Eyes of the World fan. I used to sing that to the babies when they woke up. And I have a Terrapin Station tattoo. :P

Do you listen to Phish? I could never get into them even when Jerry was still alive.

BTW the song that comes up on your my space site is F*ing cool. I laughed my ass off and then listened to it again.

I've listened to Phish before, but I'm not a *huge* fan. I think they're ok.

Thanks about the MySpace song! That's by Keller Williams, who is my unrequited musical soul mate. He's the only person who I've ever heard do a Dead cover that's just as good, if not better, than the original. I don't say that lightly. You should definitely check him out if you're not familiar with him. Keller Williams is pure musical genius. He's pretty much a one man band. *sigh*

And if you're missing your Dead fix, you should definitely stream the show from WNCW.org on Wed nights. They're so good. I try to tape them when I can. And if you manage to stay up all night (and looking at the hours you posted, that shouldn't be hard), they end with a kick ass And We Bid You Goodnight every time. Then they play the Jar of Jam, which is underground bootlegs, then at 4 or so they play Keller's Cellar. Juicy.
