Just How Do You Find A 'Smith'?

My Beloved's best friend was a kid with the last name of Smith. We lost touch a few years ago, and Josh has never been pleased with that. We love him dearly, and we think of him often. So Josh asked me to look around online and see if I can't hunt him down.

Do you know how hard that is?

First of all, this kid would never use the internet - or his real name if he did. Any searches for him or his beautiful dog come up empty. So I try finding his family...not so easy with a dad named 'John Smith'. LOL They all moved away, so we don't even know where to look. Dad & friend were last heard heading back up to NY, where they had moved from. Sister moved in with her boyfriend sort-of locally, last we heard, but we don't know his last name or phone number. No clue where mom went, but probably with her family somewhere in Texas. Maybe.

It's harder than one might expect. Friend never went to school here, but his sister did. I'm going to try Classmates, but I don't have a 'gold account' so it might not help if I did find her. We'll see.

I don't really know why I'm writing this, except to maybe vent a little.

For all of you who so readily lend prayers and energy, please help us by seeing us reconnecting. See this friend healthy and whole, and willing to come back into our lives. I'm doing what I can to make our home open and receptive for him once again, and I only hope that he will flow his way back to us. I know it would mean the world to Josh.

Thanks for listening.

They're everywhere! It's so hard to narrow down our friend. If you happen to be related to Cole, tell him to get his butt back to Asheville. :P

unfortunately I'm not related but my thoughts/prayers are headed your way.

HAHAHA - I didn't figure. Oh well. I definitely appreciate the thoughts and prayers! Thanks so much!

Re: You KNOW
It IS hard! I've found old friends before, but usually I knew where to start looking. And with a name like Smith...good luck! I really don't know what to do, either. If I could afford it, I'd contemplate finding a private detective to find their family - Josh is pretty concerned about finding his friend. But I know a move like that would probably only piss him (the friend) off, so that may not be a good idea. :P I'm hoping I can manifest running into his sister or her old boyfriend somewhere in town.

Re: You KNOW
It will happen! (if it's meant to... could Josh accept it if it's not?... just a little food for thought)

Re: You KNOW
No, I don't think he could. He really needs some closure. He's been having bad dreams lately, and he's afraid that something bad happened to him. He just needs to know one way or another if he's ok.

Re: You KNOW
Oh, I really appreciate that. I'll tell Josh, and I know he will too.

i'm sending good wishes-ut you could also try doing a spell for it. sometimes too just thinking about it alot will send the energy out and the universe will repsond in random unexpected ways. bad dreams like taht are scary:-( I hope it turns out to be ok!

Thank you! I am doing all I can to manifest and send good energy and see everything working out. I don't know much about spells, but I'm using every bit of energy & conscious creation that I can. Thanks for the well wishes!

you are welcome;-) spells are just a more structured form of what you are already doing so it porlly doesnt matter. if you decide you want something more structured and narrow focused like that I can write one for you, but I think what you are doing will likely work soon enough.
Its neat how the universe gives us signs like dreams and accidents and coincidences that lead us right where we need to go.

Have you tried googling his name and a main interest? Things like: "Dale Smith running" or Dale Smith cars"
And if you can narrow it down to a specific state let me know, I may be able to help. L

Yes, I have tried various Google searches, to no avail. I've also tried people finder sites, newspaper archives, LJ, & MySpace. I appreciate your offer to help! If I learn anything more, I will remember and see if you have any suggestions. Thanks again!

i just realized after i replied to your reply-i used to hang out with hackers-i prolly have more concrete knowledge on how to find someone than anything.
DO you perchance have teh address your friend lvied at when he lvied near you?
to find someone you need last known address, full name-thats a good start, if you have date of birth, ss#, known jobs or a few othe things it makes it easier.
there are pay for it databases now to do what we used to hack;-) but if the person is employed or gets a credit card, rents or buys a home, has a phone, a driver license or a registered car you can find them. if im not mistaken NY state had an online dl lookup at one time, tho it may be changed now.

also even tho his dad is smith, if you know his middle name and exact date of birth you can also narrow it down a lot(esp given that you know the probable state)

you might already know all that;-) but i just recalled it so wanted to share.

Finding Mr. Smith
Could he be a part of:

...any alumni group? (Search colleges/universities)
...any professional groups? (Search associations)
...any social/church groups? (Search for leaders/pastors who might know him)

Re: Finding Mr. Smith

Unfortunately, he's the type of fellow who doesn't particularly want to be found most of the time. *sigh* Hence the humungous difficulty.
