I was talking to my daughter about Steve's death, telling her he'd probably died quickly, and suddenly I imagined him finding himself in spirit, outside his body, looking down at the blood and saying, "Crikey! She got me!" It made me laugh -- not at him, just believing that although I'm sure he's sad to leave his wife and children behind, I'm equally sure he's approaching this new adventure with all the gusto and enthusiasm he showed while he was with us.
