Request for Feedback

I would like to ask everyone who sees this to please take a few moments and fill out this poll. I know I have a wide variety of interests, and I'm curious as to how everyone else feels about this journal of mine. I'm looking forward to the results with an open mind, so I hope everyone will be brutally honest. Whether you're a regular reader, someone who pops in, or a lurker who's never made a comment or friend request, I would still like to have your input. I know I have several new friends, and as much as I like to think that everyone used my hiatus as an opportunity to peruse my archives (*scoff scoff*), I understand if you don't feel ready to answer everything. Please feel free to share, even if you can't answer every question.

I've been contemplating it, and I seriously doubt that I would create filters for my various interests. That may suck for some of you who only share one particular interest with me, but I hope that you find substance in some of my other posts. If I do notice that everyone seems dead sick of a particular topic, I'm liable to either put those behind cuts or post them privately for my own benefit.

I know some areas that I personally would like to work on, but I'm also curious to see what other people's impressions are. I've been surprised at some some of the things friends have shared with me, and I'm always looking for ways to clarify and improve. I hope you'll all participate, and that I can continue to make this a pleasant and fulfilling experience for everyone.

Thank you so much!

I like your journal because I like you. You're all of those things. :)

There's some people I'm not good online pals with where I might only want to know about their kink stuff, or gank their icons, or whatever... Not you.

If you really want me to I'll fill it out, but I'm glad to be on any filter you want to put me on. I may comment less on things that relate less directly to my own interests, but you're my friend and I like knowing about your life, even things that don't relate directly to me.

Aw, thanks! You're such a sweetie! *bigger hugs*

That's how I generally feel about blogging. I try to read all of the posts, although I may have to cut back some now. I was just sort of curious as to why folks followed along and what resonated with them most. I'm always game for a little reflection & improvement! And if folks wished to see more of a particular thing, well I'd be happy to oblige. :)

I think you should just be yourself and if someone needs to be off or on a particular filter, they should make a comment to you. You are putting a huge amount of energy into updating all this "infrastructure" and I still have no idea how you are since a month ago. :(

And p.s. wow this font on the comment box is TINY. LOL

Oh no! This isn't about 'infrastructure' so much as just a curiosity as to what's resonating with people. That, and I've needed a good excuse to post a poll since getting a paid account. ;) I just occassionally like to step back and reevaluate where I am and what my goals are, and since I had my year blogoversary, a nice long break, and a butt-load of new friends, it seemed like a good time.

As for no idea how I've been...you probably commented before you got there. ;) There is one HUGE post with probably more than anyone cared to know. rotflmao

"There is one HUGE post"

OMG ya know you're right??? How did I miss that!? *goes to snoop*

Seriously though, I wouldn't try to "play" to your readers as much as you just keep track of your journey and endure our comments. :) I've seen a couple friends who do this sort of themed update every time - Doula - Reiki _ FLYing - in most of their posts. There is no filtering needed except for the *spicy* stuff! lol

Much Love ♥ & Have a great weekend

Thanks, M! I feel very much the same way. I don't filter the different topics because I like to keep them publically available as much as possible. I figure folks can read what resonates and just skip/skim the rest. TBH, I just had someone comment something along the lines of "I joined for the kink, the rest of your stuff just doesn't interest me, so it's pretty pointless if I'm getting dropped from the filter." It just got me wondering as to why everyone was here, and what topics resonated most with people. There's some other things, but I'll fill you in on that through IM next time I catch you. I just wanted to give a deep look at Who I Really Am, what I wish to accomplish through this journal, and whether or not I've veered off the path I set for myself. I'm still personally pretty happy with my journal, although I have things I'd like to work on/improve/teach myself, but it's always good to step back and reevaluate. Thanks so much for your input! I'm actually fairly certain that I'm still exactly where I want and need to be, and it seems most folks agree. :)

PS
And I've wondered, but I don't think there's anything I can do about the font size in the box. I still plan to play around with layouts at some point, so perhaps I will stumble upon the answer. I noticed it did that automatically when it upgraded to paid and my comment screen started looking like my journal page. 0_o

I see myself as a voyeur, who rather than be arrested, is priviledged to share in your life journey. You choose what filters you are comfortable with me on (I'm interested in everything - cause I'm just a curious gal) as it is your comfort level with me that is most important thing.

I read about you. I learn about you. I enjoy the peeks you allow me into your life. From your life journey I am priviledged to learn more about you. From your insights I hopefully am able to learn more about myself (or smile, laugh or cry

I really see being allowed into someone's blog as a very special thing. I am not quite comfortable giving suggestions about their blog.

Two types of blogs frustrate me and I deal with them appropriately (the fact you are on my friends list means you aren't in either category). The first are "meme whores" those people who are addicted to memes.. yanno the ones that do like 3-4-5 a day. The others are those people who are into "drama blogs" that it reminicent of your jr high days complete with the "he said, she said" routines, anonymous LJ stalkers, and drama better left to teenagers and soap opera characters.

I hope I'm making some sense here and I apologize for not being more helpful.

I enjoy being able to share in your LJ - so thank YOU :)

Thank you so much! I'm glad to know that you're enjoying it rather than suffering through it, and I feel the same way as you. Right down to the angst and meme-whores, although I do realize that I can be a meme-tart (as opposed to outright whore, LOL). I just felt the need to reevaluate my goals and purpose here, so I'm definitely grateful for the input. Thank you!

Hey sweetie. I have to agree with the others. There is very little about you that I'd not want to read or share. You are so incredibly dynamic and interesting. You make me laugh, you make me think. I've always felt it an honour to be allowed into that part of your life. Initially, yes, it was the reiki that drew me to you. But you are so much more than just that. You are truly the sum of ALL your parts. There is very little you could share that I would find shocking or uninteresting. So really, let me in where you'd like to share and where you feel most comfortable sharing. I will be blessed to have any part of it.

You are such an amazing and warm person. I'm so glad we found one another!

BTW, dad and I will be travelling I-81 when we go to florida. Are you anywhere near that? I'll email you with more details as soon as I have them.

Thank you so much! Boy, you certainly know how to bring a person back up! :-D I'm glad to know that you feel that way about me, and I certainly feel the same way about you.

As for I-81, it looks like it's a bit aways from me. Of course, if you're willing to come all the way from Canada, now that the 'good' car is fixed, I suppose I can make it to TN to meet you. ;) A quick look at Google Maps shows that the best place, if you want to stay near 81, would be for us to try to meet up where 81 & 26 meet, which looks like it's close to Johnson City (which I *think* is Tennessee). Probably about 2 hours from us, but everything's always pretty far from us. LOL It's an hour just to take Josh to work. Email me and we can work something out. I'm excited already!

*HUGS!*

Thank you so much! You are too sweet. I'm so glad to see so many awesome responses. I was totally ready for folks to be all blatantly honest with some room for improvement, and was honestly not fishing for compliments. ;) (Not that I mind them, of course...) I am glad to know you're still reading along and enjoying yourself. I'm going to be doing my best to get back on the reading and commenting bandwagon, myself, now that things are settling down.

And you're Beautiful, too! (And I'm glad I can look at yours and know how to say your name, too.)

Holy crap, I can barely see this tiny font.
I had to Ctrl+ just to see it.

That is my only suggestion for improvement:
Perhaps a layout change will cure the small font problem.

I like many aspects of your being, and have always enjoyed your words of wisdom.

Much love, Mark.

Ah, thank you so much! I do plan on playing around with layouts. This one has sort of grown on me, but I suppose a revamp is always nice. :)

And you're such a dear. *Hugs!*
