From my Mission 101 list.

I wanted to begin with one of the most promising items on my list, and it seemed like perfect timing with Josh starting a new job. We’re trying to have Family Fun Day on his day off, and we’ve all been having lots of fun going to new places. I didn’t have the foresight to realize it at the time, but this also kick-started item # 56: Start a homeschool routine with the girls.

In September, we went to the Estes-Winn Antique Car Museum, a free (by donation) museum up by the Grove Park Inn. This is a place I’d been many times, when I did one-on-one work. Josh had been wanting to check it out, as he is a fan of old cars (who isn’t?), and there was also an old fire engine that we thought Eden would enjoy (the pic didn’t come out).

We also strolled through downtown Hendersonville. They have the ‘Bearfootin’ in Hendersonville’, where local artists decorate large bear sculptures that stay on display through the summer. The bears are then auctioned off at the end of the year, with proceeds going to local charities. We’ve driven through several times, but we finally took a day to go walk around and look at them. Eden loved them! We’ll have to do it again before it’s over.

While we were there, we also visited the Mineral and Lapidary Museum of Henderson County. It is also by donation, and we had the awesome experience of touching a dinosaur egg nest and checking out the cast of a saber tooth tiger. Eden got a bit unnerved with that, although as a rock fiend, she generally enjoyed the place.

Some other new places that we’ve visited, but didn’t get pictures of: my favorite park on Amboy Road, which was also having a local art exhibit; the SCA fighter practice at the sister park down the road; Lake Julian park (more picnics), which we plan to revisit on a sunnier day and rent a paddle boat; the big library downtown, Pack Memorial Library, where Eden found her new favorite book (something about a sea turtle); and the girls and I had lunch at the Earth Fare deli. :)

OMGosh I love these pictures. Your oldest has your face and her father's hair. She's going to be stunning. And the baby is darling I love the picture of her on Josh's back with her finger pointed up.

Makes me wish I'd started a family when I was younger. But the right guy didn't come along in time. Or maybe I was looking the wrong way then...

I can see the "adventure" in in 'Bearfootin' that is so much of the kinds of experiences I never had with my folks. She looks so happy hugging that bear!

...sigh...must look away...ovaries vibrating...!

Aw, thanks! Most people say Eden's a carbon copy of Josh. I'm glad you think she kinda has my face. :P I can see it in a couple of the pics we have. Ivy...I'm not sure who she looks like yet. A lot of time I think she looks like Eden, but I think it's more the expressions they make.

Always wait for the right guy! Boy, I'm thanking God and everyone that I didn't end up with the guy I thought I'd wanted to. lol I actually wanted to wait a bit til I had kids, but all in Divine Timing...

We did have a lot of fun! Thanks so much! LOL Sorry I made your ovaries go crazy! But I like that line, and may steal it. ;)
